I'm looking forward to the TV production of "Hogfather" over Christmas. A few years ago I got hold of Terry Pratchett's e-mail address (unfortunately I've lost it again since) & asked him if "Hogfather" was in any way connected with the Mott the Hoople track "Death may be your Santa Claus" (not one of their very best, but still pretty good). He said he had never heard of the track, but I wonder - you can never tell with subliminal stuff.
